Have a Charleston restaurant that you've been waiting to try out, or an old favorite you love to revisit? Charleston Restaurant Week is an outstanding time to explore the city's culinary culture, with more than 40 participating restaurants in the Charleston area serving food from across the globe. Each restaurant will be offering a special prix-fixe menu, showcasing some of their most loved and popular dishes. This year's Charleston Restaurant Week takes place from January 8-18, 2026, and is part of the larger Restaurant Week South Carolina, with similar events across the state.
After you fill up with a great meal at your favorite restaurants, you can be fully recharged for visits to Charleston's best museums this January. Museum Mile Month 2026 takes place all January long, allowing you to purchase one pass ($35 for adults, $10 for kids) that grants access to 13 of the most fascinating museums in the city for the whole month. These include favorites like the Charleston Museum, Children's Museum of the Lowcountry, Gibbes Museum of Art, and the South Carolina Historical Society Museum. You can also visit a variety of historic homes, each with its own museum.
The first Charleston Comedy Week was a huge success in 2025, and the event returns for 2026 with a stacked lineup of live comedy at a variety of great local performance venues from January 24-31, 2026. There will be 7 performances at the Charleston Music Hall at the address listed above, including an early Comedy Week show from Sherri Shepherd on January 16. You can find additional hilarious comedians throughout the week at other venues like Silver Hill Studios, Theatre 99, The Riviera, Nameless Numberhead, and Wit's End.
Enjoy the outdoors on a crisp January evening and discover the joys of astronomy with the popular annual Stargazing on the Ashley event on January 24, 2026. Visit Drayton Hall for an evening of stargazing, with expert astronomers as guides and high-powered telescopes providing incredible views of the stars. Registration is required for this event, so be sure to grab your tickets in advance.
Can't wait to spend time on your boat this spring? The Charleston Boat Show is the perfect winter event for boat enthusiasts, with three days packed with the latest boats, boating gear, marine equipment, accessories, and outdoor lifestyle items, all under one roof. This year's Charleston Boat Show will be hosted at the North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center from January 23-25, 2026.
